Laureen was born and raised in eastern Michigan, moved to southern Idaho in 1980 and to Genesee in 1995. After 14 years with a wonderful Christian husband she was widowed in 2007. Laureen earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 2004 and completed endorsements for Substance Abuse Counseling at LCSC in 2005. She retired from SA counseling in 2015. Music has always been a big part of Laureen’s life and she continues to play for services at area churches as well as participate in our church’s voice and bell choirs. “I’ve been a library kid since grade school and now enjoy the fellowship of two area book groups.” She is active in Kairos Outside and the Genesee Civic Association. Laureen became interested in working with our seniors about 6 years ago and has had the benefit of learning from both Jim McCracken and Mike Gabby. Currently, she enjoys a good partnership with Mike Holder, participating in the senior exercise group, and planning visits and events.
