Why a small group?
Here at CongoPres, we believe that “To Know Christ, To Become Like Christ, To Share Christ” is a communal mission. In other words, we can’t follow Jesus alone. Jesus understood the importance of his followers gathering together to encourage one another in grace and love: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them” (Mt. 18:20). Indeed, from the very foundation of the Church, disciples of Jesus have been gathering for “fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42).
While Sunday worship is the center of our life together, we also believe that Christian fellowship and formation occur throughout the weekly rhythm of our lives. For this reason, small groups play a vital role in bringing people together to “equip the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph. 4:12). Our small groups are diverse in their make-up and scheduling, and we trust that you will find a community of friends who will encourage you in your faith.
