OUR MISSION

To Know Christ:

through Biblically-based Worship, Teaching, and Study

To Become Like Christ:

as we Nurture, Disciple, Encourage, and Pray for one another

To Share Christ:

through Mission to our valley and world, and Service to those in need

We are…

…An intentional community of friends who are on a faith journey together.  We certainly don’t have it all figured out, but we take God’s Word seriously and seek ways to grow deeper in our faith through study, worship and connecting with one another.  We also believe our faith compels us to action. Because of this we strive to be a witness in the Lewis-Clark Valley by meeting physical as well as spiritual needs.  We want to honor God by making a difference in the lives of those around us.

We believe…

…God is the sovereign Creator of all things.

…Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, our Savior and Lord, and the Head of the Church.

…the Holy Spirit is the living presence and power of God, alive in our hearts and in His Church.

…that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are eternally one God in three persons.

…that each member should seek the growth and development of their spiritual life in Christ through prayer, reading the Bible, worship, service, and fellowship.

…that we are called, as the Body of Christ, to nurture and strengthen one another through the ministry of the church.

…that members, rooted in faith, are ministers also, and therefore are called to outreach and mission in this church, in their community, and in their world.

…that members are called to build up the church through the use of their spiritual gifts.

…the Scriptures to be the authoritative and inspired Word of God, our only rule for faith and practice.

…that we are, in sin, incapable of redeeming our own lives.

…the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to be the outward, visible signs and seals of the inward reality of God’s transforming grace.

…we are saved by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

My personal philosophy of ministry is one that comes from abundance. Opportunities abound to discover the Why of ministry by listening to the Spirit and the neighbors around them. Every disciple has gifts and talents given to them by God to be used to love God and to inspire their lives, not just the pastor or staff. We experience God not by living to someone’s standards of what it means to be a Christian, but in how we experience Christ authentically in our own lives. Church is meant to work towards a spiritually and emotionally connected community in order so the love we receive from God pours out into the world.
