What is Congregational-Presbyterian Church?

In 1939 the Congregationalists and the Presbyterians of Lewiston merged and became Congregational-Presbyterian Church.

How do I become a member?

Speak with one of the pastors. New Member classes are offered periodically to help adults decide on membership. Youth Confirmation classes are offered, as well.

How are we involved with ministries in the community?

We regularly provide funding and/or workers for a wide variety of ministries in the Lewis-Clark Valley. See "local community" under the Missions page for a listing.

How can I have someone pray with or for me?

A call to the church office, 743-4444, will activate our Prayer Chain. We also have a prayer team available after each Sunday Service. We believe prayer is very important in our life and ministry together.

Are there volunteer opportunities available for me?

Yes! Every member is encouraged to use his or her gifts for ministry and volunteer for a particular area of ministry.

How can I become involved in the music ministry of the church?

Contact Beth Katzenberger, Director of Music Ministry, through the church office at 743-4444.

What ministry is offered for Junior and Senior High youth?

Youth Groups for Junior and Senior High, Sunday Morning Classes, one-on-one time with Youth Sponsors, small groups, mission trips, retreats and summer camps. Contact Renee Ward, Director of Youth Ministries, at 743-4444.

What do we do with and for very young children?

We offer Sunday Morning Nursery and Parent's Night Out once a month. Parents are welcome to bring their infants and toddlers to worship, and to use the nursery as desired.

What small group opportunities are available for adults?

There are many, including Men's and Women's Bible Studies, "Wednesday in the Word" Bible Study, Women's Association, and a wide variety of meet-at-the-church-or-in-a-home small groups for fellowship, study, and the sharing of common interests.

What ministries do we provide for Senior adults?

Regular programs include: Senior Exercise, Lunch Bunch, monthly programs and outings of special interest to seniors, and visitation to and with seniors.

How do I get the church newsletter?

Copies are available at the Welcome Center and in the church office. Please contact the office at 743-4444 to be added to our monthly mailing or email list. The newsletter is also available under the What's Happening page of this website.

What do I need to do to get on the church's mailing list?

A call to the church office or a note on the Welcome Pads in worship will get you connected.

How do I find my way around the buildings and campus?

A staff member would be delighted to give you a tour during the week or a request at the Welcome Center will get you a Sunday tour. Maps are also available at the Welcome Center.

The church is located at 709 6th Street in Lewiston, adjacent to the Lewis-Clark State College campus. Click for a map.

Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Friday: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
